Palm Springs is one of the most condensed LGBTQ populated communities in the US. The entire area known as Palm Springs is wildly gay and proud of it! The city is located in a valley within the mountains called Coachella Valley, famously know after the annual music concert. The city is often considered to be Straight Friendly.
North Canyon Drive / Indian Canyon Dr is the main strip with side roads boosting gay bars, cafes, restaurants, shops and more, such as Arenas Rd and others. Palm Springs is known for a retirement haven, its a wonderful place to also settle down, yet has a youthful following and is full of live!
For the adventurists, they have the world's largest rotating aerial tramway. Getting from the floor of the Coachella Valley to near the top of San Jacinto Peak it will take you to the skiing area. It's one of the most beautiful and scenic views climbing the mountain range you can get. If you dont want to ski, stay for bite to eat at one of the restaurants or simply enjoy the amazing view from 10,000ft above, not to mention some great places to hike and to take in the scene. (PSP) Palm Springs International Airport is only located 2 miles from the center. It is crazy close to everything so a quick car share or taxi can be economical. Otherwise they do have a bus system that can take you from the airport stop the main strip in 15mins.
Palm Springs itself is a small area and do not have subways or light rails, however they do have a bus system called the SunLine if you are looking to get from one area to another quickly.
