Description
Austin is a large city with one of the most populated LGBTQ cities in Texas. The predominant are for the community is located at in the Warehouse District, mainly off 4th Street. There are a lot of LGBTQ bars, restaurants, stores and other gay owned establishments in this area. This city also has recreational sports leagues; including a basketball league, cycling group, kickball league, and an annual gAyTX sports fair to check out for those sport enthusiasts. One of the largest, and unique events, is their annual Texas Gay Rodeo Association showcasing hot cowboys. What more reason do you need to come visit?!
Airport
(AUS) Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The airport is close to the city's center. You can get to downtown by using the Capital Metro's 100-AirportFlyer bus which runs to and from the airport every 30 minutes. Direct access to the Downtown area is less than $2.
Public Transportation
Austin has the Capital Metro which has several methods of transportation including the bus systems MetroBus & MetroRapid which will take passengers all around the city and center. Tickets are $1.25 one way or only $2.50 for an unlimited day pass. Take the pass!
MetroRail & MetroExpress are designed for commuters, but if you happen to be visiting from, or going to, an outside area, check these options out.
