New Orleans is a city unlike any other in the entire United States. The location and history have set this city apart. The city is sits on the marsh lands at the mouth of the Mississippi River and the the Gulf of Mexico. This city was founded in 1718 by French colonists and has had the charm every since. Famously known for their thriving jazz scene and Creole inpsired food, including crawfish, jambalaya, gumbo, and cajun flavor!

We all know Bourbon Street! A wonderful road lined with restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops, home to Mardi Gras. This area is also home to LGBTQ neighborhood, located in the French Quarter and extends some into the Marigny zone . The neighborhood here has over a dozen LGBTQ bars, with something for everyone, and no other city in America has the famous 3-4-1 cocktails! New Orleans hosts an annual event over Labor Day weekend called Southern Decadence, one of the most insane weekends you can have!

Public Transportation

New Orleans is known for their cute and convenient trolleys. The system is called NORTA and offers not only the street cars but the bus routes as well.


(MSY) Louis Armstrong International Airport. The airport is roughly 10 miles from the city center. You can take the E1 Bus from the airport directly into downtown, bare in mind it is a local bus and will take 1.5 hours. Otherwise, its best for taxi or a car share.
