Tampa has its own section of downtown that is the LGBTQ neighbourhood known as Ybor City. This strip hosts many gay bars, from drag shows, dancing clubs, to more calm local bars with fabulous happy hour specials. St Petersburg & Clearwater are located on the peninsula and is surrounded by beautiful waters. St Pete has a lovely downtown area where most of the bars and nightlife is off of Central Ave. St Pete also is home to the popular gay beach known as Sunset Beach near Treasure Island. Here you will have one hell of a sunday funday considering all the tiki bars and beachside places to grab a drink and bite to eat.
Clearwater is more north on the peninsula and has one of the cleanest and well kept beaches in Florida. The area also has several LGBTQ bars and businesses, however they are more spread out in this area as well as places in Dunedin.
(TPA) Tampa International Airport is conveniently located in the west central area of Tampa. HART Buses Route(s) 30, 32, 35, 60LX, and 275LX serve Tampa International Airport seven days a week. Otherwise on the peninsula you can arrive at (PIE) St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport.
Florida does not have any underground subways which makes Public Transportation tricky. Tampa does have the HART system which has busses and streetcars, including the TECO Streetcar which goes from Ybor City to the downtown area of Tampa.
St Pete has a trolley system that has a Downtown Looper and one that is will take you from Downtown St Pete to St Pete Beach called CAT or the Central Avenue Trolley. The Suncoast Beach Trolley takes passengers from St Pete Beach to Downtown Clearwater. Clearwater has the Jolley Trolley which as two lines of transportation there.
